Visualizing RDF

In conjunction with
SemTech and in response to a break-out group from the Semantic Code Camp, we are putting on another Meetup. It is in the EMPIRE Room on Floor B This meeting will cover different ways of visualizing RDF. Speakers: Jans Aasman - Franz, Inc. Keith Sutton - Silicon Valley Flex User Group and (SilvaFUG) Manager Alexander Kouznetsov - founder of Lieven Janssen - Adobe Flex/AIR, Semantic Web Enthusiast This will be a great session. If you are at the conference, great! Your badge in the only pass you need. If you came to the Semantic Code Camp, your badge will work as well. If you do not have a badge or lost one, you'll need to meet with me at registration on Floor B of the Fairmont and check in. THe badge is only good for the session, but will be well worth it.

The RDF navigator by Franz was helpful in illustrating the types of navigating functionality that (RDF) developers find useful when trying to understand their data sets. Adobe's introduction to Flex was a perfect mix of detail and overview for someone with a programming background but no web programming background. I had never considered using Flex in my applications, but the testimonials of simplicity and performance from the folks at the meetup have changed the stereotype that I've held. Since Flex can deploy web or desktop with an almost identical code base, it is definitely something I will consider in the future. The last demo (put together in previous few days) was the perfect combination of semantic web/linked data and Flex.

A downloadable version of my presentation is available via the website (News section) I hope I will be able to make an alpha-stage version of FlexParts available very soon. (

Amazing meetup! I want to thank all the speakers and participants. I look forward to seeing FLEX a part of the semantic development tool kit!

I cant make the meeting, but very interested in subject. Any way a summary could be sent out?

Also, on Sunday at the bird-of-a-feather session, we all wrote down our email addresses - is this being used to create a discussion list?
