Bike Pct at Tour de Tucson
Details
This is the initial posting for our annual trek to Tucson and ride. Tour de Tucson is probably the largest supported cycling event in the southwest and maybe the entire country. We have several rides leading up to Saturday. I am arriving on Tues Nov 18, staying at the Prince of Tucson RV park off I 10 and Prince road. Here's the schedule:
Wed Nov 19: Riding either up Mt Lemmon or if weather too cold, Saguaro Nat'l Monument East/ Colossal Cave. Mt Lemmon is 20+ miles to top but we usually turn around at mile 18. Monument is around 30+ miles and very scenic. Dinner at El Charro , Mexican restaurant downtown
Thurs Nov 20: Ride Loop around Tucson starting at our RV park at 9 am, 50+ miles and flatish, Dinner at Guy's RV at Prince RV park- bring something to grill
Fri Nov 21: Rest, go to Expo if riding Tour. Pasta CArb loading dinner at Ed Ohlman's place. He will post separately.
Sat Nov 22: Tour or can ride with Ed O on his alternate ride. Dinner probably at Daisy Mae's ( steakhouse). Good food, casual surroundings. LOts of places to stay close or far away. Most folks do 60 miler, altho other distances of 30 , 100 miles. E bikes are allowed altho they like to limit them to 30miler. Several of Bike Pct riders have done 60 miler on their e bikes.
Sun Nov 23: head home
