There will be a celebration this Saturday, November 1, at the Mulcahy YMCA located at the Kino Sports Complex on East Ajo Way to dedicate the opening of the final section of the Julian Wash Greenway that runs from the Santa Cruz wash to Rita Road. As part of this celebration I would like to lead a bike ride from where the celebration will be held at the west end out to the far east end at Rita road and back. More information about the celebration here (http://webcms.pima.gov/cms/One.aspx?portalId=169&pageId=169341). We can meet in the parking lot of the Mulcahy YMCA at 7:45 am, where we can then pick up the path starting point for an 8 am departure.
We will travel west to east which is uphill and take our time with rest stops if and when needed. The pace will be easy C/D and can increase as the group decides. The terrain averages about a 1, pretty flat. The round trip distance will be 25.5 miles. The turn around will be at the Rita Road exit, and then we can bolt back to the west as fast as we want (safely though, probably some traffic on the path) and arrive just in time for the festivities to start at 10 am.
