Week 7 was challenging, Week 6 was Tumacacori, and Week 9, ya'll better be signing up for the Silverbell Century, 96 mile route.
I'm taking a break week. We'll be heading out the Julian Wash, then working our way on new sections of the Loop, eventually dropping into Cyclovia to finish the ride.
This is going to be the last week we meet until I see you at El Tour, so lets have some fun!. I'm running the Bike Swap on Sunday the 15th. The week after is El Tour (which you are all ready to do the 104 now, I'm sure of it). Click Here for Bike Swap Information (http://gaba.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=87&club_id=307669&item_id=380445&sl=434320098).
Regroups are at the Shell Station at Valencia and Houghton, and Whole Foods River Road (they have water, snacks, and bike racks) before we get back on the Loop to take us down to Cyclovia.
Since we're on the loop, I anticipate a leisurely pace.
Week 9 is the Silverbell Century, which I highly recommend signing up for. It's $15 for GABA members, I recommend going for broke and doing the 96 mile. Click Here for more information (http://gaba.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=87&club_id=307669&item_id=385860&sl=428773526).
About Downtown El Tour Training Rides:
Welcome to the El Tour Training Ride Series from Downtown. These rides start from where El Tour starts at Armory Park, and pick off different portions of the course (as well as some of my favorite rides). The end to each ride has a breakfast/brunch option. The rides will increase from 24 miles Week 1 to close to 100 miles prior to El Tour (The 96 mile Silverbell Century). Pace will always be a C+ to a B (12-14 mph average) depending on elevation gain.
