Have you joined GABA ? If not, find us at

Yes, together my wife and I ride a couple of full suspension HP Velotechnik recumbents and I enjoy riding my old cyclocross and road bikes on the road and also have a mountain bike.

Have you participated in other Meetup Groups?

Yes, I've long been a supporter of cycling both in the US and internationally. I raced road bikes in the 80s and coached road racers and triathletes, and I've toured interesting parts of the world on many touring bikes. In 2005 I created the Loaded Touring Bike Photo Gallery which became the number 1 site for touring bikes within a few months of its launch, and remained well-known for at least 10 years, drawing in over 18 million visitors from around the world.

Tell us a little about the kind of cycling you have been doing the last couple of years.

In the 90s I attended the LAB academy to become a bicycling instructor and taught cycling safety in my area during that time. More recently I was invited onto the board of directors for The Olympic Discovery Trail (130 mile trail from Port Townsend to the Pacific Ocean) and designed their fantastic new website for them. Now it's time to focus on the riding! See you out there. Tailwinds. Ron W

My wife and I moved to Tucson full-time in June of 2019, primarily for the road biking, from Washington State. That's saying something for the road biking here isn't it.
