The Birmingham Film Club Pages

The Birmingham Immersive Cinema Club has been formed by two existing groups amalgamating to explore new film experiences for the cinema addicts of Birmingham. David and I are committed to providing new ideas, angles and happenings to satisfy your inner cineaste. A nice warm fuzzy side effect of this is we get to meet lots of like minded people and hopefully we can all make lots of friends along the way. It's a win win win situation, unless you don't like films or making friends but then you wouldn't be here would you?

So here's how it's all going to work. We have plans for screenings of various genre films from art house to exploitation. As soon as events are organised they will be announced as a meet up in this group. There is a discussion thread where members can share their ideas for potential screenings.

More excitingly than even that exciting news, there are plans afoot to work towards more event based screenings following a particular theme. Be it horror, slasher themed night around Halloween maybe? Or any other genre. We've got some interesting people to talk to so hopefully your ears will be filled with thrilling news very soon.

We shouldn't forget that there are still some cool cinemas in Birmingham, particularly The Electric and The Mac, and will continue to arrange meet ups around specific screenings. Watching a film is so much better if you can share the experience afterwards with like minded folk.

I think a monthly meet up and social will be a nice way of getting to know everybody and keep the momentum of this lovely group going. I am also determined to learn 2,000 names.

Stay tuned everybody it's going to a wonderful ride
