Hello, All Bisexual+ and Bi+ Friendly Cinema Lovers. Let’s go to the movies!
THE 2ND FEBRUARY MOVIE IS PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE
Sorry for the delay in posting the showtime and place. The movie opens today (Feb. 14) and I'd been hoping it would be showing at an AMC theater, but alas it is not, so we'll head to the Angelika.
***Please get tickets for the 7:10 p.m. showing at Angelika Film Center (18 W. Houston St.). We'll begin gathering in the cafe in the lobby at 6:20 p.m. They have beer and wine and snacks, including salads, sandwiches and baked treats. They do not have assigned seating, so we'll go in together when the house doors open. Since it's not at AMC, I can't get refunds on unused tickets, so EVERYONE, PLEASE GET YOUR OWN TICKET! You can stop by the box office or get it online: https://www.angelikafilmcenter.com/nyc/showtimes-and-tickets/now-playing/2020-02-18
Céline Sciamma’s beautifully filmed and told romance was one of the most lauded films at Cannes in 2019. After a limited one-week run at the Angelika in December, it is getting a wide distribution on February 14.

Each month we’ll pick a film to see and a pre-film gathering place for a quick meal and conversation before the show.
Whenever possible, we’ll try to find a movie with a Bisexual+ or LGBTQ+ theme, but we may also just choose a flick that looks fun. Ultimately this is a chance for all of us to get together, build community, and have a good time.
HOW IT WORKS:
We’ll try to post the movies we’re thinking of going to in advance so that people can plan and comment. As we get closer to the date, we’ll post the pre-movie gathering place and the movie showtime and location on the Wednesday before our outing (when the following week’s showtimes become available).
KEEPING IT AFFORDABLE:
To ensure as many people as possible can attend, we’ll try to keep the movies limited to AMC theaters. For people who are A List members, just reserve your ticket as you normally would. Everyone else, you can get $6 tickets on Tuesdays by signing up for a free AMC Stubs account. Discount tickets can be purchased at the box office or on the app/online (with a $1.89 service fee). For info, please visit: https://www.amctheatres.com/discount-tuesdays
That said, there may be times when we’ll choose a cool-looking flick at a non-AMC theater because that is the most appealing option that month. We may also change the movie pick if it ends up bombing and gets terrible reviews once it comes out, or if a better movie option presents itself.
Here’s what we’re thinking of coming up:
MARCH 10: DAN SAVAGE’S HUMP! FILM FESTIVAL
The offerings at AMC are looking a bit underwhelming, so we’re going to change it up a bit this month. But first . . . WARNING: EXPLICIT SEXUAL CONTENT. YOU MUST BE 18+ TO ATTEND THIS EVENT.
Tickets are on sale now! (They are $29.80 each with fees; sorry, I know they're kinda expensive.) Please get tickets for the 7:30 p.m. showing at Cinema Village. EVERYONE SHOULD GET THEIR OWN TICKET!
We will meet around 6 p.m. nearby for a preshow munch. Location TBA.
See you at the movies!
PS: Please post your feedback and suggestions in the comments.
