The Black Tie Ballroom Club returns to Colliers Wood in August, after a four year absence, with the Ewan Bleach Quintet.
This is my birthday, as well as being the date my wife will return
The advantages of Colliers Wood are we can stay open until 11.30pm, and we can bring our own alcoholic drinks. there's a free car park behind the building, and of course the tube trains run all night from Colliers Wood on a Saturday night, as does the 155 night bus . Last but by no means least, we get the hall for sixteen hours, so can do some serious dance classes in the daytime, if we so choose.
On August 10th we will do an intensive dance class titled 'Learn to dance in a day' targeting those new to ballroom or who are rusty.
Former world ballroom and Latin champion Raymond Root has agreed to teach this class (with two breaks, one for tea, one for lunch) in slow waltz for beginners. The class will start at 10 am and end at 3. 30 pm, cost £25 per person, and be limited to twenty number students, so there will be loads of room and personal attention for all
Tickets for the evening dance are £10 for early bird, £15, regular or £20 on the door. Tickets for the daytime dance class are £25 and it's first come, first served
