The Blockhouse Run Club (BRC) meets most Saturdays at 9am. We do a fun and easy run on the bridle path, grass, rocks and woods of Central Park. Join us to explore its natural beauty, and sometimes visit historic and lesser-known features along the way. Central Park is the base, but occasionally we venture out onto other trails in the New York area. Our name honors the historic Central Park Blockhouse (http://www.centralparknyc.org/things-to-see-and-do/attractions/blockhouse.html), the traditional halfway-point destination of our Saturday run.
Trail runners old and young and from all over the world have run with the BRC. We are a small group (capacity 50 members (http://www.meetup.com/pricing/)), and invite others who share that same passion for the trails to run with us on a monthly/regular basis. Experienced trail runners as well as runners training for their first trail races are welcome.
• Please be comfortable running or brisk run-walking at least six miles on trail.
• If you are a visitor, tourist, or prefer not to join our group, we'd still love to run with you! Just let us know you'll be in town, and we'll give you the details. For more info, visit the BRC Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/blockhouserunclub/).
