Breath is one of the most powerful and accessible tools we have to get our nervous system working for us and not against us.<ul><li>Breathing exercise (<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/b6_4EVf5N_E?t=376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">6:16<\/a>) <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Being in a state of resistance or receptivity are consistencies that can either make life harder or easier. <ul><li>Patty created &#8220;The Receiving Method,&#8221; which was designed to help people move into a state of receptivity. In the state of receiving, procrastination transforms into &#8220;knowing&#8221;. This means when you are seeing procrastination in your life, it is actually resistance. Receptivity allows you to realize when you&#8217;re simply waiting for a better time or you are actually procrastinating something that is going to benefit you. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three key tenants to shift from a state of resistance to receptivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Make a practice out of receiving your outer world<\/strong>. In life we have things that make us uncomfortable and we are taught to ignore them in order to succeed. If you don&#8217;t acknowledge the difficulty of the outer world and denying what gives you true inner pain, you&#8217;ll never be able to receive the inner wisdom that will show you how to navigate challenges. <\/li><li><strong>Recieve yourself<\/strong>. Trying to be a part of what everyone else is doing keeps you from receiving yourself. From a young age, our brains are conditioned to believe we need to be like everyone else. This leads to us rejecting parts of ourselves that aren&#8217;t accepted by others. Most people overwork at the wrong things because their inner wisdom is pushed down. Since we were young; rest, playing, and watching out for yourself had negative associations. It meant you were lazy, irresponsible, or selfish. These are all the key strengths to being in a receptive state which allows opportunities and success to come our way. <\/li><li><strong>Do your 100%.<\/strong> Stop yourself from doing 105% or 110%, which actually ends up pushing what you want away. Most people believe they have to do more to have greater success. It&#8217;s important to do less and allow yourself to be more. It&#8217;s necessary to pause to allow the world around you to catch up with the efforts you&#8217;ve taken.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>How to draw helpful boundaries: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>If you feel like you never have enough time or money, you have locked away your selfish self. You are overgiving to the world and you need to ask for help from others.  <\/li><li>If you feel like you never have fun, you&#8217;re irresponsible self has been locked away. Make a list of 3-5 things you want to do but aren&#8217;t doing because it feels irresponsible. Pick one and do it.  <\/li><li>If you feel tired and overwhelmed all the time, you locked away your lazy self. To heal this, take a day for yourself to do absolutely nothing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-top-q-a-questions-and-resources\">Top Q&amp;A Questions and Resources: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>How do you know what version of yourself is locked away?<\/strong> <ul><li>I&#8217;ve been teaching this in a program called The Receiving School\u00ae since 2019 and there are people that have been in the program since 2019 and they&#8217;re still unlocking pieces of themself. When you&#8217;re in an experience where you don&#8217;t feel like enough, try to get to the heart of where that feeling is coming from. Once you pinpoint what you feel you are missing, dig deep into that and you will find the particular rejected self that you need to heal. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>How do you know if your hard work is the right path for you?<\/strong> <ul><li>When you think about getting to the other side of the hard work and achieving that goal, does it feel exciting to you or does it feel like a relief that it&#8217;s over? If it feels like relief then that is not properly guided work.
