This is reflected in the fact that there are more than 12,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/topics\/professional-networking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">professional networking Meetup groups<\/a> across the globe, made up of over 10.6 million members!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it\u2019s an all-too-common reality that professional success gets conflated with personal success. By this same logic, career struggles are often taken as personal failings. Certainly in the United States, but also in many other cultures throughout the world, focus on work can overwhelm other important life goals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The emphasis on the value of work isn\u2019t entirely wrong, but the other side of the story deserves to be told, too. Here are just a few considerations that might help you re-evaluate the amount of emotional energy you spend on your career:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Your job won\u2019t love you back \u2014 <\/strong>Work isn\u2019t equivalent to a genuine relationship.
