We\u2019ll do this by\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Migrating a large portion of Meetup\u2019s codebase<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tackling bugs affecting core parts of the experience, like registration, event creation and payments&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simplifying the product (without compromising functionality)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Streamline communication tools<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer research made it clear that there\u2019s a lot we can improve in Meetup\u2019s communications features. We\u2019ll aim to improve functionality by\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Streamlining communication features to prevent confusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing noise from other Meetup emails and notifications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Increase discoverability of groups and events&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Event and group discovery is foundational for Meetup\u2019s success and there\u2019s a big opportunity to encourage members to attend events they\u2019ll enjoy, We\u2019ll tackle this opportunity from two sides:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>For members: Improve the suggestion algorithm and make the discovery experience more engaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For organizers: Leverage data and insights to help organizers create successful events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top Q&amp;A questions and resources<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Will you add more bells and whistles? Or focus on basic functionality?<br><\/strong>Right now, our top priority is the reliability of the platform. We\u2019ve already started working on that. First, we want to make sure the product is solid. We\u2019re going to tackle it bit by bit, starting with communication tools. Then, move on to everything else that drives value for Meetup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We, organizers, are paying customers. As you improve the platform, how will you consult with us and communicate changes?<br><\/strong>We\u2019re huge on feedback and co-creation. We\u2019re communicating what we do on various channels; Discord, blog, and X. It\u2019s great when there\u2019s unprompted feedback. We do read through it. In addition, we\u2019re sending out surveys and doing customer interviews.
