As 2025 comes to a close, we\u2019re reflecting on a transformative year for Meetup. For months, our focus has been on making Meetup more reliable and efficient for organizers, and more inviting and intuitive for the entire community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To that end, we introduced a series of improvements to the platform, including public group reviews, direct responses to individual reviews, <\/strong>and automatic events in Google Calendar<\/strong>. We cover these updates and more here on our blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, we\u2019ve been working hard on an exciting new product roadmap, which includes three key initiatives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Launch a modern and delightful new Mobile experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Make community-building effortless<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Give members greater confidence to show up and connect<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    With the new Mobile experience live as of December 18, 2025, we\u2019re turning our focus to the other two initiatives, with product developments already underway for 2026.

    Below, we go into more detail about each of the three initiatives\u2014why we believe they\u2019re important for the community, and how we\u2019re pursuing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Launch a modern and delightful new Mobile experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    In 2025 we gave Meetup its most significant redesign in years, aiming to create a more modern and welcoming experience for all members and organizers\u2014both current and those joining now. As we explain in this article<\/a>, our goal was to give the platform a more inspiring and human feel, while keeping its core identity and functionality fully intact. We rolled out the new design (one of our main roadmap points) on Meetup Web back in October, and have just finalized the Mobile design this December.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    All of this momentum sets the stage for a 2026 focused on deeper connection, easier organizing, and a more supported member experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Make community-building effortless<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Meetup community is unique in how it grows: With 75% of organizers having started as members, people don\u2019t just find welcoming spaces here\u2014they help create them. In 2025 we built on this strength with Meetup Starter<\/a>, our free plan that eases first-time organizers into event creation. In 2026, we\u2019re focusing even more on fostering organic community building by bringing organizers and members closer together and making the transition from member to organizer as intuitive as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
