Koomer Ridge to Hansen's Point
Details
Starting from the Koomer Ridge Campground parking area we will start our hike on the Koomer Ridge trail. We will briefly take a side trail to our first stop at the Hidden Arch, before continuing on the Koomer Ridge trail to the Buck trail. The Buck trail will take us down to the right fork of the Chimney Top Creek before we climb up to the Sheltowee Trace Trail. After a short distance on the Sheltowee we will turn off on to the Hanson's Point Trail. After lunch on Hansen's Point we will head back to the Sheltowee and head towards the Rough Trail. After a short distance on the Rough Trail we will once again pick up the Koomer Ridge Trail. About a mile before we get back to the Koomer Ridge Campground we will take another side trail and attempt to find Cold Falls waterfall, before ending the hike back at the campground parking lot.
The distance of the hike is about 10 miles with a few creek crossings and some 20-30% grade climbs in sections (total ascent 2,431 ft). AllTrail has the difficulty at Moderate.
After the hike, we can all grab a slice of pizza at Miguel's before heading home.
