Erich Ocean introduces Hub.js

* Space still available in "App Developer Master Class" this same day - details at the bottom *
About the session: We will have Erich Ocean presenting hub.js, a new JavaScript library for writing offline, server-less HTML 5 applications with a rich data model, history, and real-time push and sync via WebSockets that grew out of Apple's SproutCore framework and his work with Google-scale sync. After covering the Hub architecture and how it fits in with traditional Rails-style and NoSQL web apps, Erich will be building a simple hub.js application for the group to demo the offline, online and push support. If time permits, we will also have a demo of Hubs running in Cocoa and Cocoa Touch. Then finish it off with a Q&A session.
This will be the first public demo of hub.js.
About Erich: Erich is a former SproutCore developer for Apple/MobileMe where he was responsible for the highly-regarded datastore framework in SproutCore 1.0. Hub.js is a continuation of that work. He is currently working with companies who are adopting Hubs for their desktop applications, and using Hubs himself in film and post production in Los Angeles. Once or twice a month he teaches application development with Apple's frameworks, mostly for fun.
App Developer Master Class Erich is also leading an App Developer Master Class the day of our meetup in the Emerging Technology Center. If you're developing a large scale application then I would highly suggest attending, it will no doubt save thousands of hours of coding pain. More info and registration available on Erich's site -

Fascinating stuff. Really had me thinking about web applications in new ways. It would've been GREAT if Erich would've eased us into the topic a little slower, and spent more time showing us how to write a simple app to take advantage of hub.js.
