The December Circles of Voices will host Dr. Briana Pobiner of the Smithsonian National Museum of History. She and J.C. Faulk will speak about human evolution and the fact that all human beings are 99.9% genetically similar, yet we have created countless, socially constructed ways to divide people from humanity, such as racism.

Dr. Pobiner is a prehistoric archaeologist who currently leads the Human Origins Program’s Education and outreach efforts. She also manages the Human Origins Program’s public program website content, social media, and exhibition volunteer training. Her research has taken her to places such as Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and Indonesia. Briana is also currently an Associate Research Professor of Anthropology at George Washington University.

Join us on Saturday, December 12th from 6-9pm at Bbox at the Gateway, MICA to discuss the impact that racism is having on our society, from an evolutionary standpoint. Please reserve a seat using our EventBrite link and bring a food and/or drink to share! Feel free to invite friends and family. We hope to see you there!
