Calling all 30-something women interested in reading, wining, and dining in Westchester! All genres, flavors, and women welcome!
Though not usually one to spearhead gatherings, book clubs on meet up are a dime a dozen, right? So surely there's something in the recipe worth repeating. Here's hoping this one takes off!
The essentials: - We meet about once-a-month to hangout and discuss the book. - Usually we'd meet up at different restaurants around Westchester, enjoy a meal or drink together, but until COVID is under wraps we'll meet either online, in a park, or in a member's yard. - We rotate picking the place, the book, and facilitating conversation. - Members are asked to help defray the Meetup.com hosting cost (approx. $200/year) by making a once-per-year voluntary cash contribution of $5-10, or whatever feels right (non-essential for newbs of course — come try us out first!)
Etiquette: - This group is for anybody who identifies as a woman — we won't label you unless you label yourself. - Please try to keep your RSVP up-to-date: stuff comes up, but this way somebody on the wait-list can update their plans and we can also help keep our dinner reservation as accurate as possible for the restaurant (post-COVID). - “Be the change you wish to see in a book club, I mean, the world!” Gandhi said that, right? Be overtly kind: no "Mean Girl" nonsense.
