Most of us came to Bangalore city by choice though some of us were born here. Bangalore has been known by various names- Pensioner's Paradise, Garden City, Silicon Valley, etc.

How much do we know about the city that we call Home? So we chose to read about Bangalore and the books are:

Askew – a short biography of Bangalore- T.J.S George
Multiple City- Writings on Bangalore- Aditi De
Bengaluru in the First Person- Mahesh Bhat
Bangalore - Peter Colaco
Past and Curious- Stanley Carvalho
Bangalored -The Expat Story- Eshwar Sundareshan
The Lilac House-Anita Nair
Cut like a wound- Anita Nair
Ooru tales- our favourite books based in Bangalore.
Ghachar Ghochar- Vivek Shanbhagh
Lunatic in my head- Anjum Hasan
The cosmopolitans, - Anjum Hasan
Children’s books- the Riddle of the Seventh Stone- Monideepa Sahu
Promise of the Metropolis: Bangalore’s Twentieth Century- Janaki Nair
Brown sahib er bari-Satyajit ray
The Lost Girl-Sangu Mandanna
Bangalore Baloney – Thomas Itty
My Days in the Underworld- Rise of the Bangalore Mafia-Agni Sreedhar
The Devadasi and the saint- The Life and Times of Bangalore Nagarathnamma-v sriram

So much of literature abounds this ever changing city that i expect the discussions will be quite animated and interesting.

We are meeting on the grounds opposite the State Central library housed in the Cubbon Park, opposite UB City/Coffee day Lounge.

Please be on time as we have to make best of the daylight.
You need to bring a mat and mosquito repellent.

once there you can call[masked] to know where we are.
