Join us for a lunchtime lecture and and multimedia preview of "Kylian + Pite," a modern dance performance by the Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) that spans the emotional spectrum.
"Kylian + Pite" will highlight the choreography of Jiri Kylian and Crystal Pite, featuring "Petite Mort" and "Sechs Tänze (Six Dances)." Two new dances will also be unveiled: the world premiere of "Forgotten Land," set to a Benjamin Britten score, and the PNB premiere of "Emergence."
This hour-long discussion, with audio and video excerpts, will be presented by Doug Fullington, PNB’s educational programs manager and special assistant to artistic director Peter Boal. Audience questions are welcome.
This program is one of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s[masked] preview series at The Seattle Public Library; click here to see upcoming season previews.
Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
Getting to the Library and Parking
The program starts at 12 noon sharp. The 11am meetup time allows for an optional coffee and conversation stop before the program for those of us who are interested.
Meet us in the Library's Chocolati Cafe (upstairs on Level 3 near the 5th Avenue entrance) anytime after about 11am (I'll be there a little earlier). We'll walk downstairs at 11:50am so we can go into the auditorium together.
After the program, some of us might head out for lunch/beverages/conversation at a site determined by the group.
