Let's meet up for an evening of live theatre. (Tickets Sold Out)

Let's go see and review Different Stages' production of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 for a specially added performance on Wednesday, November 30. Let's meet after the show in the Vortex lounge to share our views and reviews over wine, water or whiskey. Call (512)[masked] to get your tickets for the Wednesday, November 30 performance $15

The Vortex
2307 Manor Rd Different Stages opens its[masked] season with Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Set in the twenty-fourth century, Fahrenheit 451 is a gripping tale at once disturbing and poetic about a fireman, Guy Montag, whose job is to destroy all books by fire. He never questions the destruction, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family". But when he meets an eccentric young neighbor, Clarisse, her inquisitive nature and humanist philosophy prompt him to question the emptiness of his life. Directed by Lily Wolff (Lungs), Fahrenheit 451 features Kriston Woodreaux (As You Like It) as the fireman and Martina Ohlhauser (Too Many Husbands) as his wife. Playing the young neighbor is Bria Washington (Enter a Woman Pretty Enough). The Fire Captain is played by Rick Smith (The Price), and the young neighbor's grandfather is played by Garry Peters (John Gabriel Borkman). Also featured are Kathy Rose Center (Postville) as Mrs. Hudson, and Eva McQuade (The Language Archive) and Cassie Reveles (Alice in Wonderland) in various roles. Rounding out the cast are Devin Ramirez and Kamile Robertson.

What a wonderful show and a wonderful group. I am so sorry more tickets weren't available. Norman spoke to us after the show with a delightful rundown of all the work done by Different Stages. Let's go to live theatre on a monthly basis. Look for the next posting.

Hopefully I can squeeze in, there is always someone that doesn't show up so I think the chances are good so I will go hangout there even earlier and probably grab a bite to eat at Hoovers or Chilito's next door to the Vortex, both great food and don't forget Sugar Mama's one of Austin's fav pastry shop across the street.

Second thought, maybe I better not join you for dinner since I should be at the Vortex trying to buy a ticket from a scalper. I am up for going to grab something afterwards, there are some great places to eat in that area but they may be closed but 24 Diner is always open and have great food and milk shakes.
