As for studying it, I'd recommend simply practicing writing it; it tends to work better than simply memorizing them as with flashcards.  Here are some links to practice sheets:

Additionally, there is a semi-free game called Slime Forest Adventure.  I say semi- because the standard version is free but there is a $20 version which adds features.  It's primarily for studying the English translation of kanji but it also has a kana-only feature.
