Activity Group Leader

GPI US is seeking an Activity Group Leader who is interested in gaining valuable experiencewith Japanese high school students visiting and learning in Boston. Interest in globaleducation and Japanese culture, and experience living abroad is a plus.Duties Include:• Actively engaging in discussions to help students improve communication skills,critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, cultural and global awareness - notjust during scheduled evening sessions but throughout the program. The studentswill value your relationship.• Acting as their escort and mentor throughout the program activities includingworkshops, city tours, etc.• Working effectively in a team environment and following instructions from HeadCoordinator• Being confident leading or facilitating discussions and motivating and empoweringJapanese students• Being flexible and able to work 8+ hour days during program.Requirements:• Applicants should have an interest in education, international cultures, globalissues, travel, and/or Japan.• Applicants must be fluent in English (No Japanese language skill required)• Applicants must be familiar with the Boston/Cambridge area and feel confidentnavigating the public transportation system and leading students.• Applicants must be able to commit to all the dates in a given program.

GGPI US is seeking a Discussion Leader who is interested in gaining valuable experience withJapanese high school students visiting and learning in Boston. The Discussion Leader willbe leading discussions prompted by an Instructor or Facilitator for a group of 5 – 10Japanese students. Interest in global education, Japanese culture and experience livingabroad is a plus.Duties Include:• Actively engaging in discussions to help students improve communication skills,critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and cultural and global awareness in aclassroom setting.• Encouraging the Japanese students to express their own opinions and ask questions.• Working effectively in a team with the other coordinators and GPI staff andfollowing instructions from the designated Head Coordinator or Instructor.Requirements:• Interest in education, international cultures, global issues, travel, and/or Japan• Fluent English speaking and writing ability (No Japanese language skill required)• Commitment to all of the dates/times of the program• Ability to confidently lead/facilitate discussion sessions• Being flexible and able to make quick, educated decisions

GPI US is seeking a Boston Learn & Lead Group Leader who is interested in gainingvaluable experience with Japanese high school students visiting and learning in Boston.Interest in global education and Japanese culture and experience living abroad is a plus.Duties Include:• Before the activity:o Meeting with your student group and creating a structured plan for exploringthe Boston/Cambridge area.• During the Boston Learn & Lead activity:o Actively engaging students in conversations as their discussion partner to helpimprove their communication skills and cross-cultural understanding.o Encouraging students to exercise leadership and initiative throughout the day.o Being responsible and confident in acting as a guide and following safetyprocedures such as continually performing headcounts, etc.o Being flexible and able to make quick and educated decisions.o Working effectively in a team environment and following instructions from theHead Coordinator and GPI Staff.Requirements:• Applicants should have an interest in education, international cultures, global issues,travel, and/or Japan.• Applicants must be fluent English speakers (no Japanese language ability required).• Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students OR recent graduates.• Applicants must be familiar with the Boston/Cambridge area and feel confidentnavigating the public transportation system while leading students.Dates & Compensation:• There are several 4-8 hour opportunities throughout March and April 2019.• Compensation is dependent on the length of session but ranges from $60 - $130 persession. Any admissions with saved receipts will be covered. Any meals during theactivity are already included in the compensation.
