Beyond the Steps: Zouk Connection Weekend

Join us for a transformative weekend of dance where the journey begins within. In these classes, we'll guide you to connect deeply with yourself—your body, and your authenticity. This self-awareness forms the foundation of our exploration into human connection through the beautiful dance of Zouk.

As we move together, you'll learn to tune in to your partner with heightened body awareness, creating a dance experience that feels not only comfortable but truly sensational. Our focus will be on building trust, fostering true listening and communication, and cultivating the art of being present with yourself and a partner. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or new to Zouk, this journey will help you discover the magic of authentic connection in dance.

Schedule:

Class 1: 2:00pm - 3:30pm
"Inner Rhythm: Deepening Body Awareness"
*Description: In this class, we’ll embark on a journey inward, focusing on your connection with your own body. Discover how to move with greater awareness and build a deeper relationship with how your body wants to express itself. We’ll explore your boundaries and limits, teaching you how to honor them in dance. By connecting with yourself on a deeper level, you’ll create the foundation for a more authentic and connected dance with your partner.

Class 2: 3:45pm - 5:15pm
"Embrace & Sensation: The Art of Starting a Dance"
*Description: Learn the power of connection from the very first moment. This class will guide you in building a close embrace, starting from stillness, and creating amazing sensations right from the beginning of your dance. We’ll focus on how to truly connect and be present with your partner, allowing the dance to blossom naturally. This is where the magic of zouk begins—with mindful, attentive connection.

15 minute break

Class 3: 5:30pm to 7:00pm
"Listening & Comfort: The Improved Experience"
*Description:*This class is dedicated to enhancing the experience for both followers and leaders. Followers will learn to cultivate better listening and presence, finding safety and comfort within the dance. Leaders will focus on creating a more comfortable and secure environment for their partners, enhancing connection through attentive listening and thoughtful guidance. Together, we’ll create a dance where both partners feel truly connected and cared for.

Dinner Break/Private Lessons

Social: 10:00pm to 1:00am
