The Grand Budapest Hotel

The show time is 7:00.  I will be at the theater by 6:00 and we will go in for seats at 6:30.  The movie is showing upstairs, so we will gather at the tables, near the windows, at the top of the escalator.

Heading in for seats about 30 minutes before the show makes it easier for us to sit together. This also allows us to take turns getting snacks, etc., before the previews start.

Tickets are available on Fandango now (http://www.fandango.com/amcloewsbostoncommon19_aapnv/theaterpage?date=3/15/2014.) I strongly suggest you buy your tickets ahead of time, I'm hearing reports of it selling out in other cities and I wouldn't be surprised if that happens here as well.

If you miss the group ahead of time, come find us after. We gather in the hallway outside of the theater we just saw the movie in, to discuss the film a bit, allow for restroom breaks and to get a head count of all those who would like to go out after for drinks and munchies.

Managing the after event is much easier if everyone brings cash, so please plan ahead if you want to go out with the group after. We will be splitting one check for the group.

Finally, please remember to keep your RSVP's up-to-date, so that I can plan the "after-event" and know who to look for.

Come out and join us for a viewing of director Wes Anderson(Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom)'s latest film.

Movie Synopsis: "The Grand Budapest Hotel" recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune -- all against the backdrop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

This was a really awesome movie, we enjoyed it a lot. It was nice to hang out a little before the show. I wish I could have stayed for the after the movie outing. Thanks Jessy!

I arrived too late to chat and couldn't stay after. But I really enjoyed the movie & appreciate Jessy putting this together.

I was a bit disappointed in the movie, but hangin' with my BMG homies always makes for a great night out. Many thanks to Jessy-not Casey ;-) -for picking up the hosting duties, and doing a terrific job her first time out. Sorry I couldn't join y'all for food and drinks @ CPK after the movie.

Enjoyed the movie. Didn't arrive early enough to chat much and couldn't attend the after event (sad). I'm sure everyone who did, had a good time.

i got the 7:40 tix a couple of days ago.

    March 14, 2014

    • Jessy W.

Sorry about the confusion. The 7:00 time was posted on Monday and while they occasionally change the times they didn't in this case. Hopefully you'll be able to join us next time.

      March 15, 2014

    • Paul K.

Lynn: In the past, I know people who were in the same predicament were able to exchange tix for the wrong time for tix for the right time. Perhaps, if you showed up @ the cinema well before either showtime TPTB there could help you. Try calling the cinema ahead of time and explaining your situation to them and see what they say.

Yeah, Lisa Fr., I ran into the same confusion, myself, at first, but keep looking and I think you'll find the correct 7:00PM showing.

For the after party, you have one check. How do you work it if someone wants a drink? Do they pay separately? Thank you.

    February 19, 2014

    • Paul K.

One check simply means that-no separate checks. Each individual still pays for the particular items that (s)he orders-plus, of course, tax and a suggested 18% gratuity/tip, more if you so choose.

Not to worry. Just RSVP when you can, Amy.
