DOC: "Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger" (7pm)

  ***********************************************

!!! THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT !!!

Tickets are no longer available at the CCT

  ***********************************************

Didn't get enough of Whitey in 2013? Here's your chance to get saturated: Sundance is sponsoring a "sneak peak" of Joe Berlinger's documentary, "Whitey", at the Coolidge just days after it premieres at the 2014 film festival in Park City. According to a blurb in today's Boston Globe, the film "explores Bulger's fraught relationship with the FBI." Hey, what else would it be about?

The movie starts at 7:00pm, it's a little over 2 hours in length, the 30th is a Thursday, and I live in Arlington--so this is not going to be a very late night. I'll probably grab a burger and a beer at The Regal Beagle at 5:00 pm. Feel free to join me if you'd like--I haven't eaten there in ages so it'll be an adventure. Otherwise, I'll meet you in the CCT alley at 6:00 sharp.

You're responsible for purchasing your own ticket. Because this is a "Special premiere," the ticket price is $15 (no member discounts). Tickets go on sale for CCT MEMBERS on Monday, 12/16; everyone else can buy them on Wednesday, 12/18. This screening will probably sell out quickly because in addition to the movie being about a notorious local, Joe Berlinger will be at the Coolidge to introduce it and he'll stick around for a Q&A afterwards. So ... if you REALLY want to attend this screening, consider getting your ticket on Monday or Wednesday next week.

Yes, I was very disappointed. I checked the website first thing in the morning and the tickets were not yet available. Then I got busy at work and wasn't able to check again until the end of the day.

Also, full disclosure, if you're buying online the cost is $15 + $2.50 service charge. So this will actually be a $17.50 ticket. If you change your mind about attending, please update your RSVP.
