Philosophy Discussion: Plato Republic Books I-IV

We will be meeting to discuss the first four books of perhaps the most famous and widely read philosophy text of all time. These first four parts introduce the discourse’s main problem, that being the question of the definition and worth of justice. This coincides with an exploration of education, psychology, and sociology as it relates to this inquiry. Although this text is over 2000 years old it remains extremely relevant today. It is also a lively and interesting text that is accessible to people without a large philosophical background.
