The snow is finally melting, so we're getting back to meeting! Our next meetup will be on Thursday, March 26th at 7pm! We're going with two longer presentations of about 30 minutes this time around.
Our first talk that evening will be from Calvin Metcalf (http://twitter.com/cwmma), whose talk, "Porting the node.js crypto Module to the Browser," will be a deep dive into his recent efforts into fleshing out crypto-browserify (https://github.com/crypto-browserify/crypto-browserify), including adding ciphers, public key encryption, public key signatures and Diffie-Hellman key exchange. If this all sounds like complicated security computer stuff to you, it also did to Calvin, and he'll be here to tell us what he learned!
We're continuing system of supporting Science Club for Girls (http://scienceclubforgirls.org/) with proceeds from meetups, so note that you'll have to pay $5 up front to RSVP for this meetup. We've now raised nearly $600 total for SCFG! This also helps us better estimate attendance and food ordering, and more importantly, support local STEM and code education initiatives.
We're exited to have two companies joining that mission and supporting the meetup by sponsoring this month, so say hello tonight to the folks from RIFT.io (http://riftio.com) and Hired (https://hired.com/), who'll be doing a trivia question with some nice spoils for the correct answerer!
We're looking forward to seeing everyone again! If you have questions about anything that's going on, get in touch with us @bos_js (http://twitter.com/bos_js), over Meetup or at [masked] .
PS. If your company would like to get involved in supporting the meetup and connecting with the community, you can sponsor BostonJS for $500. This will get two of your developers into the event, a place to put your SWAG, and two minutes in front of the audience to talk about what you're up to! If you're interested, get in touch with us at [masked] .
