The August 22, 2018 Boston Fashion Meetup and Boston Fashion Designers Group had a great response to discussion on building future success of the Fashion Apparel Industry. Lets continue the discussion at BCAE, Boston Center for Adult Education Jay Calderin will interview Shirley Willett on her book launch, “PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE: Fashion Memoir, 70 Years of Design, Engineering, Education, Manufacturing & Technology”. Learning about the past industry can make us more aware for dealing with present problems and see how to redesign a new, successful future for all in fashion: entrepreneurs and consumers.     Dear meetup friends, Please mark September 30th, 6:30pm-10pm on your calendars for the Nubia Williams RTW Launch Party for Boston Fashion Week at the Artists for Humanity Epicenter! This is the debut show for this Parsons School of Design graduate and current adjunct Pre-College fashion professor at Lesley University College of Art and Design. Williams successfully raised funds through her "Nubia Comes to Boston" Kickstarter Campaign and will be using these funds to hire young emerging talent from Artists for Humanity and Empire Beauty School for photography, hair and makeup. Accessories will be provided by Boutikey, a Boston boutique carrying emerging designers. Williams aims to inspire the youth to make their creativity profitable and provide the professional/educational opportunities to do so. For this collection, Williams will be taking you on a cultural journey to Ancient Nubia, the neglected and fading culture who's pyramids will soon be part of an underwater Atlantis, engulfed by its own Nile river. This culture will be illustrated through both conceptual and Ready-to-Wear fashion. You can expect good music, savory bites, raffles, gift bags, and most importantly, a FABULOUS runway show.
