Dear Jazz Meetup --

Armenian Library and Museum of America | 65 Main St., Watertown, MA |

Renowned pianist/composer VARDAN OVSEPIAN will perform with vocalist Maggie Grebowicz at the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) on Friday, June 5 at 8 p.m. as part of the JAZZ NIGHTS @ ALMA series.  The upcoming concert marks Ovsepian’s final Boston area show before he moves to the West Coast.

Ovsepian and Grebowicz will deliver brilliant original compositions that interpret the poetry of William Blake, Emily Dickinson and other writers.  Their collaboration will also feature works by legendary composers Mario Laginha and Pat Metheny.

The JAZZ NIGHTS @ ALMA concerts feature performances by both established and up-and-coming groups from the New England and surrounding areas. Past performances have been given by Jerry Bergonzi, John Baboian’s The Be-Bop Guitars, Kevin Harris Project, and MUSANER.   The series takes place in ALMA’s Contemporary Art Gallery, a unique venue that allows guests to enjoy jazz in an intimate cabaret style setting surrounded by art.

Tickets are $15 each and include one complimentary glass of wine for those 21+.  ALMA members, JazzBoston members and students (with proper ID) pay $10.  Advance reservations are encouraged and may be made by e-mailing [address removed], calling (617)[masked] or pre-purchasing tickets on ALMA’s website

Museum doors will open at 7:30 p.m., giving patrons who arrive early the opportunity to browse ALMA’s current exhibits free of charge.
