Join us in celebrating 2016 - Year of the Bots!
We have gathered world experts in VUI / UX on how best to design your bot for the last MeetUp of the year.
We recently added voice activated actions for Google (http://venturebeat.com/2016/12/08/google-partners-with-gupshup-to-develop-voice-activated-actions-for-google-home/)home to our platform so will be exploring best practices for voice interfaces as well as user research, concept generation, and high-fidelity UIs.
Current speakers include -
Brad Abrams - Product Manager for Actions on Google
Brad is responsible for the developer experience for extensions to the Google Assistant.
Engage users through the Google Assistant. Actions on Google let you build for the Google Assistant. Your integrations can help you engage users through Google Home today, and in the future, through Pixel, Allo, and many other experiences where the Google Assistant will be available.
Cathy Pearl - Director of UX at Sensely, author of the O’Reilly book “Designing Voice User Interfaces”
Cathy is making healthcare more effective and accessible with a virtual nurse avatar.
During her time at Nuance and Microsoft, she designed VUIs for banks, airlines, healthcare companies, and Ford SYNC, and at Volio she built a conversational iPad app that has Esquire Magazine’s style columnist advise users on what they should wear on a first date. She has a BS in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, and an MS in Computer Science from Indiana University.
Liana Dumitru - Co-founder & Product Designer at Pogo.ai
Pogo is a chat bot that helps Slack teams capture and resurface links, notes, and messages. Pogo catalogs your team's collective knowledge, allowing Slack teams of engineers and designers to easily save information like on-boarding docs for new employees, office information, code snippets, or design files.
Before Pogo, Liana has worked with startups in the Bay Area on all phases of the design process, from user research, ideation, and concept generation to wireframing, high-fidelity UIs and rapid prototyping.
