Learn the Basics of 3d Printing
Come to the Makerspace to learn about the amazing process of 3D printing! In this class you'll learn the basics of the software use required to run a 3D printer, as well as learning about the machines themselves and the filament (plastic raw material) that they use to print. We'll start with a brief history of the industry and who the players are. Then we'll get into technologies and terminology, followed by software tools and steps to print an item. We'll talk a bit about design considerations for different types of 3d printing. And finally, we'll have some hands-on time with the printers that we have at the space and a few of our members' printers from home. $20 class fee $10 discounted fee for members of BMS No experience necessary.
