Marla Goodman will lead a Gelatin Plate Printing Workshop 1-4pm Saturday April 15 at the Makerspace.
This class will be $10 for non-members and $5 for members. We'll collect fees on the day of the event.
Gelatin plate printing is a popular technique for creating art monoprints. Because gelatin is pliable and damp, it releases ink readily, without the use of a printing press. Marla Goodman will demonstrate how to make a gelatin printing plate with Knox gelatin and glycerine, followed by a hands-on printing workshop where you can experiment with various techniques and materials to make your own prints. We'll provide water-based paint and selected grasses, paper cut-outs and other interesting items to create prints with. If you have items you'd like to try printing with (think flat and smaller than 4x6") feel free to bring them.
Marla is a graphic designer and artist from Bozeman. In her spare time, she does art and music outreach activities with senior citizens, plans community art shows, and plays the ukulele and the theremin (but not at the same time). Her blog is at https://goodwerks.wordpress.com/
