  • Have you ever wondered what’s next for you completing your sport climbing level 1 certified course?

    Are you looking for more excitement and adrenaline challenges?

    If you want to conquer a mountain, this is the real stuff you should learn.

    Come and join us for Sports Climbing Level 2 Certified Course to be an independent climber, to have a deeper insight to the core aspects of sport climbing. You’ll get to learn how to fall, and knowing how to do a dynamic belay. And these 2 essential skills are best taught by our instructor, Derek who is active in climbing.

    -If you love to go for an adventurous hiking or climbing trip, this is an essential skill to complement you adventure trip.


    -Participants need to have acquired Level 1 Sport Climbing certification and basic climbing skills.

    -If you don’t have Level 1 Sport Climbing , you will need to contact Derek[masked] to arrange a climbing session with our instructor to assess your fitness level. Syllabus:
    Introduction to Lead Climbing
    Top-rope Climbing vs Lead Climbing
    Placement of protection points
    Understanding Fall Factor and Impact Force
    Understanding the anchor system on artificial wall
    Equipment Required for Lead Climbing (usage, care, limitation)

    Dynamic rope vs Static rope
    Harness with gear loops
    Quickdraws (Runners)
    Slings / Tapes (safety slings, extension as Runners)
    Friction devices – (Fig.8, Tubular)
    Knots(usage, limitation, dressing)

    Double Figure of 8 knot Tape knot
    Belaying a Lead Climber using friction devices
    Giving slack & taking-in
    Belaying stance
    Arresting a climber’s fall
    Dynamic Belaying
    Rope handling & management
    Lead Climbing & Techniques

    Pre-climb checks Clipping in techniques / prevention & undo “Z” clips
    Runners’ placement/direction
    Climbing on overhangs & roofs
    Safe falling position
    Climbing commands
    Top-out Technique


    Successful participants will receive a Sport Climbing Level 2 certification from the Singapore Mountaineering Federation.
