GUST and Atheist Nexus

Hey everyone,

Since you guys (and gals) are my local friends, I wanted to fill you in on what has been going on with Atheist Nexus.  At the last meeting I recommended the site and the next morning, it was the subject of much conspiracy theories and Internet gossip. I want to assure you that everything is okay.

As a personal favor, I accepted the founder of the sites request to temporarily take the reigns and lead an investigation of the accusations. It didn't take long to prove the rumors false and that to prove that it was not created by a secret radical Christian group (sounds ridiculous doesn't it). However, after returning home from the Pub meeting Saturday (thanks for driving Russ), The creator of Atheist Nexus called me and told me he was resigning from the site and asked me to take permanent control.

So to make a long story short, it is safe and wonderful site. We have grown to 1200 members in less than a couple weeks. Our goal is to be a non-profit site that provide for atheists every thing Facebook and MeetUp currently do. There are 20 million atheists in America and we would be happy with 10% of them (or even 1%).

I am also amazed at how many people are on the site from our area. We are not as alone as we thought we were. Some of them have already joined GUST, but I want GUST to have it's own group on the site.

Come join us:
