🎒 Let’s summit something spectacular this Ekka day! Pack your sense of adventure, your best hiking boots, and your camera—because we’re heading to Mount Maroon for jaw-dropping views and a thrilling climb! 🏞️🔥
This 5.6 km return hike in the Scenic Rim features steep rock scrambles, epic ridge lines, and panoramic views of Mount Barney and beyond. It’s a short hike with big rewards—perfect for those keen to challenge themselves and soak in South East Queensland’s wild beauty.

2WD accessible. Look for the gate at the end of Cotswold Road near the walking track entrance.
🗓️ Plan for the Day:
8:00 am: 🚗 Depart Brisbane (Drop a comment if you need a lift or can offer one!)
10:00 am: 🚶‍♀️ Begin the hike to the summit!
12:00 pm: 🧘 Chill, BYO lunch, snack, and enjoy the summit views
2:00 pm: 🎉 Return to the carpark and wrap up
4:00 pm: 🍻 Optional pub stop on the way home!
💡 Tips for a Great Hike:
👟 Wear proper hiking boots (lots of rocks and loose terrain)
🧤 Gloves can help for the scramble sections
🧭 Download trail maps in advance—there are unmarked parts
💧 Bring at least 2L of water
🍌 Pack snacks or lunch for the summit
🧢 Sunscreen, hat, and light layers—it’s exposed at the top
📸 Don’t forget your camera! The views are incredible
