ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE 2012 - BEST DOCUMENTARY

“POTENT ENOUGH TO ALTER HOW YOU SEE THE WORLD. RIVETING FROM BEGINNING TO END.” - Los Angeles Times

THE GATEKEEPERS (Shomerei HaSaf)

Shin Bet, Israel’s internal secret service, is present at the crossroad of every decision.

For the first time, six former heads of the agency have agreed to share their insights and reflect publicly on their actions and decisions whilst in charge of Shin Bet, in this Oscar-nominated, critically lauded documentary.

The Gatekeepers offers an exclusive account of the sum of their successes and failures. It documents the reasons why each man individually, and the six as a group, came to reconsider their hardline positions and advocate a more conciliatory approach toward the Palestinians.

More than three years in the making, The Gatekeepers is one of the most controversial documentaries ever made in Israel. Described by The New York Times as “essential, eye- opening viewing if you think you understand the Middle East”, the documentary provides access to the Israeli security agency whose activities and membership are normally closely held state secrets.

This is truly captivating viewing for anyone interested in the secretive machinations of state security services, and Shin Bet in particular, in one of the most volatile regions of the world.
