CINEMA - CINEPLEX SOUTH BANK

SYNOPSIS"The Hunger Games" - Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

SYNOPSIS"THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE" - Begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

CAST - JENNIFER LAWRENCE. LIAM HEMSWORTH, JOSH HUTCHERSON, WOODY HARRELSON.

GENRE - ACTION/ADVENTURE/SCI-FI/FANTASTY

CLASSIFICATION - PG13

MEETING TIME - 8.30pm

FIRST MOVIE STARTS - 9pm "THE HUNGER GAMES"

SECOND MOVIE STARTS - 12am " THE HUNGER GAMES - CATCHING FIRE"

TICKETS - To avoid disappointment, it is STRONGLY recommended that you buy your tickets online prior to the event. Some popular movies can sell out in advance, especially in the opening week.

WHERE TO MEET - The group will gather in the cinema's upstairs coffee lounge area from around 8.30pm, then head into the cinema at about 8.45pm (otherwise we'll get bad seats!). The coffee lounge bar serves a nice range of food and drinks.

Please regroup in the coffee lounge after the FIRST movie.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT - Public transport to the cinema is very convenient. Please CLICK HERE for further information.

FREE PARKING - Be sure to allow extra time if you're using the cinema's underground carpark, as it's often very busy. If the carpark is full, the machine will only allow you in when a car leaves the carpark. This can mean a wait from between 5 mins to 30 mins. Parking is free for cinema patrons up to 4 hours, and is accessible via Ernest St, close to the Grey St intersection. Remember to have your parking ticket validated at the box office when you leave the cinema. Be careful not to exceed the 4-hour parking limit, as a hefty $35 penalty applies.

Google image details of the carpark entrance are available at the following web address:

I would love to attend. I have always wanted to attend a movie marathon in Sydney where sometimes choices of 3-4 movies in 1 night. Only thing is, what sort of public transport options available mid-morning for Thursday? Not much till what 5am at least I could only imagine to get home again.

Although it'd be an incredibly late night, on a school night, his double feature is tempting me.. :)
