What we're about

Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) became popular the US around 2010 and had been growing in Europe a few years longer. HEMA refers to forms of sword fighting from the Roman Gladius to the Rapier & Sabre. Not to be confused with Olympic Fencing, HEMA is a sport and art form that is designed around use of weapons that closely resemble what would have been used in period combat.

Pittsburgh Sword Fighters is made up of Broken Plow WMA (HEMA) and En Garde (Olympic Fencing). This Meetup page is mostly dedicated to the Broken Plow side of PSF. Come check us out or visit our website for more information: www.pittsburghswordfighters.com
