• Building Community Sites

    100% Remote

    This month, we will be talking about building community sites. As an example, we will begin talking about how the site https://www.floridavoterrestoration.com/ was built for the Hackathon on September 21, 2019 for the National Day of Civic Hacking: https://www.meetup.com/Code-for-Miami/events/263929159/. We will also talk about other ways of building community sites. We welcome all new Drupal users, so feel free to join if you are new to Drupal or are just getting started. Our Dunkin' Doughnuts location that we have been using since April 2010 is remodeling the next few months, so until we find a new location, we will have all remote meetups. In other words, this month will be 100% remote.

    This month, we will be talking about two topics: - The Open Social distribution for building community sites - Free SSL ( Let's Encrypt and Cloudflare) We welcome all new Drupal users, so feel free to join if you are new to Drupal or are just getting started.

  • BOA (Barracuda Octopus Aegir) - powerful for self-hosted Drupal

    This month, we will be talking about self-hosting Drupal on a VPS. Specifically, we will be discussing BOA (Barracuda Octopus Aegir). We have discussed this topic in the past ( i.e. http://browarddrupal.org/PastMeetings/july-2012 ), and we will be discussing the latest changes to BOA 4.0.1

  • Gregg Shanefelt presents: Gatsby/static Site Generators

    This month, Gregg Shanefelt ( https://www.macchiatomarketing.com/ ) will be talking about GatbyJS/static site generators. Static site generators can play nicely with Drupal and make it easier to take advantage of the speed, security, and scalability of static sites. This is one approach many people are considering for making their sites faster.

  • Florida Drupal Virtual Meetup - "Relativity for Drupal Camps" by Jay Epstein

    This month Jay Epstein will be presenting "Relativity for Drupal Camps" at the Florida Drupal Virtual Meetup. This project brings a Relativity data driven solution for Drupal Camp organizers and volunteers to rapidly spin-up Drupal Camp sites with a whole new way to handle scheduling, sessions, sponsorship, featured speakers and instructors. This presentation is part of the Florida Drupal Virtual Meetups and will be recorded, so pleasd hold off your questions until the end of the presentation.   • Relativity for Drupal Camps

    This month, BDUG is excited to demo a special project that is being worked on for the whole community. Named "Relativity for Drupal Camps", this project brings a Relativity data driven solution for Drupal Camp organizers and volunteers to rapidly spin-up Drupal Camp sites with a whole new way to handle scheduling, sessions, sponsorship, featured speakers and instructors. This back end demo will take you through camp setup, creating multi-day schedules and time slots, handling sessions and speakers, and attracting sponsors. Our Dunkin' Doughnuts location that we have been using since April 2010 is remodeling the next few months, so until we find a new location, we will have all remote meetups. In other words, this month will be 100% remote. We will be using Skype for the meeting, so if you do not already have access to our remote meetup link, please send Hector (hectoriribarne) a Skype request mentioning that you want to participate.

This month, Jay will be continuing to help Ron build his Politics site.
