JavaScript Meetup April feat. CoffeeScript

1) Pengo József (Prezi): Experiences with CoffeeScript

József talks about his experiences with CoffeeScript--why did he start to use it, what are the pitfalls.

2) Neumark Péter (Prezi): CoffeeScript Shell on the Web

If you ever used REST services in your web app, you probably already know how hard it can be to debug in JavaScript.

DuctTape is a command line shell running in the browser that helps you in developing and testing.

During my talk I give a short demonstration and tell you how you can create packages to DuctTape so you can use it in your own app, too.

3) Bártházi András (Arkon): ingatlan.com goes mobile

András talks about their experiences during the development of the mobile version of ingatlan.com. Zepto.JS is introduced.

4) CANCELLED! - Milan Korsos (SpringAhead): Building UI the Right Way using CoffeeScript, Knockout.js and Jasmine BDD

Milan is currently rebuilding the UI of an existing product from scratch to meet the high level user experience, performance and maintainability expectations.

He is sharing his thoughts about why he switched to CoffeeScript from JavaScript and to Knockout.js from Backbone.js, as well as his first steps in the magical world of unit testing (using Jasmine BDD and Sinon.js). He also gives some quick and dirty tips about performance improvements and introduces an old friend, called YSlow!

This meetup event is English speaking.

Great topics, speakers could've used live app/code examples.

Unfortunately I have to cancel my session due to some personal reasons: I can't make it back to Hungary by tomorrow. Probably I'll write a blog post on this topic soon. Sorry guys, next time.
