budapest.rb meetup 2014/03

Hey guys,

we're going to keep the next meetup in Digital Natives' office on 03/26 @7PM. Since Balázs and Lackac volunteered as a speaker, we are doing coding dojo on another occasion. I'm also increasing the event's limit to 30.

Talks:

Balázs Varga - What is JRuby and why I like it

"I will talk about what is jruby and how it works and why i find it very interesting. Also I will speak about how you can try it today, what are the main advantages of using it and what difficulties you will face."

László Bácsi - OO Patterns

"I'll also give a talk about a recent refactoring project, OO patterns"

Cheers,
Miki

Sorry, I couldn't come. Flying to London the next day early in the morning.

I agree. I would also suggest to have a time limit for the talks. Let's say 20 minutes?

absolutely, let's agree on 20 minutes + Q&A. how about that? anyone else who's willing to give a talk about some ruby-related topic?

guys, thanks to LacKac and Balázs we have 2 talks for the next event. I'd postpone the coding dojo with 2 months in that case, and have a talk-meetup. do you agree?

I can also give a talk about a recent refactoring project, OO patterns, not too exhaustive though.

Hi, I can talk about JRuby and its advantages. If you want a clickbait title, I'd say: "What is JRuby and why you should care" :D but I don't want to be boring so if you are planning to come, feel free to write what would you like to hear about (eg.: performance comparisons, scalability, state of gems, etc.)

What interests me most is how to debug code when using jRuby.
