I agree Kenn.   I’ve modified our charter and event details to reflect this:

BTW, check out the Excel dreamlining workbook, courtesy of Set Consulting:

I’ve also included your point about breaking up into groups if needed, to ensure everyone gets their 5 mins.

The requirements for this group are to have read, or be currently reading, "The Four Hour Work Week" and applying some of the principles now.

I'm sure you want a group of serious people with momentum. I suggest adding the requirement to complete the dreamlining worksheet.

Subject: [businessnetwork-119] January 19th, 2008 meetup: recap for all members

Just came back from a great meetup with eleven of us expressing quite diverse and valuable points of view. Each of us were able to express our dreamlines/muse/lifestyle and get feedback from the group. We also had gratitude for our sponsor Sunday (www.asksunday.com) for providing us refreshments of our choice and information on their excellent virtual assistant services.

An important area of feedback that some of us brought up (especially Kenn) is that the meetup be centered around action, just like the principles of the FHWW. Important to keep in mind Tim Ferriss has little tolerance for meetings himself. Although this event isn't a typical meeting per-se (it's a support and networking venue) the benefit of these discussions rest solely on the actionable items we take away and perform.

Another issue that will come up with new members is that of divergent topics. I personally have many, many influences beyond the FHWW in my life. We can agree or disagree with Tim Ferriss as well -- I agree with about 80% of his principles myself. However, for the purpose of this venue and this discussion, we are treating the FHWW as the central "roadmap".

The 6-month dreamline for most of us in the group, I'll daresay, is to "establish a muse that is generating automated income" -- whatever the amount and whatever the level of automation. If any of us are already there, then our dreamline is to "refine our muse to live a true FHWW", "live the lifestyle of our choice", or "fill the void through service or continued learning". The specifics of course are individual.

Till our next meetup on February 2nd. :)
