Trail Name: Mount Yamnuska: Raven's End (Click the link for the AllTrails route.)
Difficulty: Moderate
Trailhead meet-up time: Saturday, December 6 at 9:00am
Location: Yamnuska Ridge and CMC Valley Trailhead (Click the link for the parking lot location.)

NOTE: **Attendance** - A waitlist has been created. I will admit attendees at my own discretion. Your answer to the hike question will be considered. I am aiming for up to 12 people, including myself.

NOTE: *Microspikes Mandatory* - The entire trail is expected to be icy with recent snow fall and overnight freezes.

NOTE: Hike Day - All hike dates are subject to change depending on the weather.

NOTE: Difficulty - This is a Moderate hike. The hike is simply a walk up from the parking lot to Raven's End. There are some steeper sections on the hike - at least an average level of fitness is recommended.

Windy and cloudy weather in the forecast for the upcoming weekend. Let's do a straightforward hike up to Raven's End sheltered in the trees!

Weather: To be updated as we get closer to the hike (usually the Wednesday before the hike).

Distance: Approx. 7.6 km (Out-and-Back)
Elevation gain: Approx. 552 meters
Time: Approx. 4 hours (including breaks)

Trail Description: From the trailhead, we will ascend the switchbacks on the hill, navigating through some of the steeper sections. The trail will become less steep as we get to the upper part of the hill, eventually ending at Raven's End. We will take as many breaks as needed along the way, and return the same way to the parking lot.

MANDATORY GEAR:
- microspikes

RECOMMENDED GEAR & SUPPLIES
- appropriate clothing - Early Winter - Medium wool clothing is recommended with a windbreaker/medium jacket. Waterproof pants and boots are important in winter. Cotton clothes are not good. Jeans are not good.
- gaiters - optional - trail should be well packed down at this time
- hiking poles - useful for the steep ascent and descent sections
- gloves/toque/balaclava - cooler temperatures, especially in the morning
- sunglasses
- personal first aid kit
- snacks/lunch
- water/warm drink (recommend 1-2 litres of water)

Petro-Canada off Highway 1 and Highway 22.
