• Monday Urban Walk/Hikes
This event is set up as a recurring event so that people have an opportunity to get together and Walk/Hike during the work week. The way it will work is that people will sign up and agree to meet in the same spot every week. The group can then decide together which way they want to explore from there. It is a nice evening walk down the Willamette River Trail. Meet in the back of the parking lot by the little kid playground on the south side. The group will leave the meeting spot at 2:00pm if everyone who signed up shows up we leave sooner. Plan to walk for about an hour give or take depending on the decision of the group. Rain or shine. See you there! * Note: Although Cory is listed as the host for this event, this event doesn't have a set leader. He is available to answer questions, but won't necessarily be on every Walk/Hike. People will meet at the same spot so don't be afraid to say "Hey, are you here for the Urban Walk/Hike to"? ** Note: 12/1/2017 Christy Albin is going to leading the group you can also txt her at[masked] Call or text Cory at[masked] with questions.

  • Spencer's Butte Weekly Sunset Hike - 11/7/2018 - DST ENDS
Sunset - 4:53 pm To keep the group going, I've decided to set up a regular Spencer's Butte Sunset Hike every week on Wednesday evening. Each hike will officially leave about one hour before sunset, although you can start earlier or later and join the group at the top. I'm not going to cancel any hikes regardless of the weather. If you go on all of these, you'll be in shape before you know it! Don't wait for me or anyone else at the parking lot unless you want to. Just leave at the designated time and we'll all meet at the top. (Note: don't go alone unless you know the trail well.) We'll take the main trail, so go straight ahead from the parking lot (don't take the trail on the left). Walk 1/2 mile and stay left at the trail junction. Then it's 1/2 mile to the top, with 800 feet elevation gain. Civil twilight, bright enough to see, only lasts about 30 minutes after sunset. So be sure to bring a headlamp or a flashlight, since we'll be walking the last part in the dark. For safety, please walk with at least one other person, and bring your cell phone. If you're the second to the last person, make sure the last person isn't left behind! Getting together after the hike at a restaurant or bar is highly encouraged. See you this Wednesday.
