What we're about

A message from our Club President:

Are you looking to build your communication and leadership skills with professionals and residents in Canary Wharf?

Then join us on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesday of every month from 6:15pm (meetings end no later than 9pm). We sometimes have to move meetings, but our website (https://canarywharftoastmasters.com/meetings/) always has the most up to date list of dates. It might be a good idea to join our club mailing list if you would like to receive meeting reminders or invites to special events. You can sign up HERE (https://canarywharftoastmasters.us18.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=03d3b6f6cf52617a9ff1df30d&id=e5960da0c5).

You are welcome to attend, FREE of charge, without notice, as my guest.

You will be warmly welcomed before being educated and entertained by a variety of speeches. If that sounds dry, let me assure you that some people have compared our meetings to a night in a stand-up comedy club.

Our club is open to anyone with a desire to develop their public speaking, confidence and leadership skills. Membership is open to all adults regardless of national, cultural, racial, political and professional background. We do not discriminate on any basis and are proud to reflect the diversity of London in our membership. Our members make our club, each contributing a little of their history and personal identity with stories, character, warm and energy.

You are most welcome to join us, after the meeting, for nibbles and drinks in the bar.

On behalf of all our members, I look forward to welcoming you to a club meeting soon.

Bob Bowes
Club President

The meeting rooms are on the first floor. What to expect at the meeting: The meetings are structured in 3 parts: Prepared Speeches, Evaluations and Impromptu session. The first session accommodates up to 4 speakers who present their prepared speeches (usually 5-7 minutes each). In the second part of the meeting, our speakers receive valuable and constructive feedback. We then have a short break for refreshments and networking. The third session is impromptu speaking where members learn to speak on a topic they have not prepared. Some people love do this, some dread it, but everyone always enjoys it; it's high energy, high adrenaline and often very funny.
