Canary Wharf Communicators is one of the 14,650 clubs of Toastmasters International (/www.toastmasters.org), a non-profit organisation with more than 90 years old history. We share the passion for public speaking with a community of more than 315,000 people across the globe. The training programme has been developing over the years and it accommodates the need for developing Communication skills as well as Leadership skills as fundamentals. Advanced track training provides you with a choice for specializing further, eg: Entertaining speech, Public Relations, Specialty Speeches, Humorous Speaking, etc.. Canary Wharf Communicators is a vibrant, supportive and friendly club with a nearly 10-year history. We support our members through a constructive feedback, mentoring programme and before anything else with the very encouraging and enthusiastic attitude. Being a Toastmasters club, our mission is to provide support and infrastructure for developing your communication and leadership skills. We are an intellectual hub for people who seek personal growth and who are passionate about helping others. The club welcomes everyone who dares to face the fear of public speaking regardless of age, culture, gender, professional background or nationality. We love our members! Each one contributes with personal stories, special character, warm personality, energy, advice, special skills...we learn, inspire, admire, encourage and improve! Have fun too! Join us for the next meeting! Attending our meetings No registration is required. We meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 until 8:30pm At Hotel Hilton Canary Wharf South Quay, Marsh Wall, London E14 9SH Check the notice board at the reception for the meeting room number. The meeting rooms are on the first floor. No registration is required. What to expect We gather from 6.15pm for 6.30pm start. The meetings are structured in 3 parts: Prepared Speeches, Evaluations and Impromptu session. The first session accomodates up to 4 speakers who present their prepared speeches (usually 5-7 minutes each). The evaluations with valuable and constructive feedback follow straight after. A short break allows you to get a refreshment and speak to us, the members or the Committee members. The third session is impromptu speaking - the so called 'Table Topics'. A random question is given to a member who has not had the opportunity to speak. The question is answered in a free, off-the-cuff style within 1.5-2 minutes. This is the high adrenalin part, which is as hilarious as a stand-up comedy show! After the meeting we socialise over some nibbles and a drink. Becoming a member 1. Visit us as a guest (as many times as you want) before you make your mind. 2. Take a copy of the meeting agenda where you can find the instructions how to join. Once we have received your membership payment, you will be provided with access to the club website with access to resources, agenda, role and speech request options. Our Vice Presidents of Membership will e-mail you a digital copy of the first projects. A message from our Club President:

Are you looking to build your communication and leadership skills with professionals and residents in Canary Wharf?

Then join us on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:15pm (meetings end no later than 9pm).

You are welcome to attend, FREE of charge, without notice, as my guest.

You will be warmly welcomed before being educated and entertained by a variety of speeches. If that sounds dry, let me assure you that some people have compared our meetings to a night in a stand-up comedy club.

Our club is open to anyone with a desire to develop their public speaking, confidence and leadership skills. Membership is open to all adults regardless of national, cultural, racial, political and professional background. We do not discriminate on any basis and are proud to reflect the diversity of London in our membership. Our members make our club, each contributing a little of their history and personal identity with stories, character, warm and energy.

You are most welcome to join us, after the meeting, for nibbles and drinks in the bar.
