Canucks Amuck 8th Anniversary Wargaming Meet-up

  • Nov 24, 2012 · 11:00 AM
  • Forest Hill United Church

November is our 8th Anniversary Celebration- as we don't have a meet-up in December, we celebrate in November. On anniversary meet-ups we encourage people to bring and play their favourite games of the year.

On anniversary meet-up days it's also become a tradition to hold a military history trivia contest. You can sample the questions asked in 2009 here:

http://www.meetup.com...

The person with the highest score has first choice from two (sometimes three) wargame prize options. The runner-up has second choice.

You need not play a game related to the theme; the idea behind the theme is to get people to play games or explore eras or systems that they might not otherwise. Remember to pre-arrange your games and opponents on our message board in this thread:

Newcomers are always welcome. You don't need to bring a game if you don't have one; other members usually bring far more than are necessary.

We will be playing in the parlour of Forest Hill United Church, located at 2 Wembley Road, just north of Eglinton on Bathurst Street. Look for paper signs posted on the doors to guide you to the room. When you approach from the parking lot, go to the doors on your left, not the main doors into the sanctuary. Some parking is available in the streets nearby the church and you may also park in the lot if there are spaces available - many spaces clear up right around 11 AM.

To get to the church by TTC, take the #32 bus east (if coming from Eglinton West station on the University line) or the same bus going west (if coming from Eglinton station on the Yonge line). Both buses run frequently. Get off at Bathurst and walk one (short) block north on the west side of Bathurst.

There is no admission fee, but a small donation to the church's property committee is appreciated.
