  •                             NOT A BEGINNER CANYON

RAIN THE DAY OF CANCELS EVENT

If your profile hasn't been updated or doesn't meet the requirements you will not be added and will be removed from the waitlist.

Due to the nature of the semi exposed rappel transition between the 1st and 2nd rappel and the difficult start of that 2nd rappel this is not for beginners. Participation is at the discretion of the event host.

Requirements : To join this event as well as any of the other recreational events posted on this Meetup Group, you must have taken the Uber Adventures 3-day Technical Canyoneering Course. (Exceptions may be made for those who have taken an approved equivalent course, or for those who have SIGNIFICANT canyoneering experience.

Group Gear:  200'x 2 rope, extra smaller ropes 60', 120'. webbing, rapides.

Individual Gear: Complete harness w/tethers, helmet, wetsuit 4/3 minimum rain shell is a good idea - think wind, booties, canyoneering boots,food/water, and any other typical personal gear.

Summary: Bonita Canyon is a short but sweet canyon in the Lytle Creek Area. It has one of the shortest approaches and can be completed with a group of 8 in 4 hours. Bonita is a series of three spring fed waterfalls and in winter presents the best challenges as the flow picks up. The pictures reflect this time of year flows.

Note: Since this is not a guided trip and because canyoneering is a team sport where every member should be able to rappel well, inspect anchors, build new anchors, rig for all contingencies, manage ropes efficiently and contribute in every aspect of the adventure, anyone who's profile does not reflect the appropriate training or sufficient experience will not be allowed to participate. PLEASE KEEP YOUR PROFILE ACCURATE & UP-TO-DATE!

If you are unable or unwilling to contribute group gear (ie: bagged rope, webbing, rapides or first aid kit), or you are unable or unwilling to help carry group gear, you may be turned-away from the event.

We ran it last weekend in regular clothes and a rainshell. Not a problem.
