A great day of gaming to finish off a fantastic year! Began the day with Timeline, a fun little filler that every history teacher should own. Fellow gamer and co-worker Marcus joined us for the first time only to burn in the sun with the rest of us in my first play of Forbidden Desert. I like Forbidden Island. I love FD! The shifting sands and coordinate locations for parts make this a tough and interesting game. Betrayal at the House on the Hill saw Jeb become the traitor and sacrifice Marcus to fulfill his nefarious plan. Marcus mentioned he was a fan of Glory to Rome so I couldn't pass a chance to play one of my faves as well. Made a few errors but don't think any corrections would've allowed me to defeat Chris as he became the patrician of the day. Took a bit of a break to sort my Legendary cards and then assist Suzanne with sleeving her LotR DB cards.

Then we took the plastic off of Chip's Plunder game. This game is rougher than I thought it was gonna be. A deduction game, you try to decipher the location of the other pirate captains' treasures. None of us were prepared for such a brain burner and quit after eight rounds. Pulling out the cards you use to guess locations, none of us were right. Would like to try again. Finished with a lighter game of privateering, Pirate Fluxx. Ah, you know, it's Fluxx! At other tables, an epic game of Dominant Species was won by the Arachnids (Chris M) while a long game of Lords of Waterdeep was underway. Also saw Aztlan, Starcraft, and Heroclix, among others.

Congrats to Brian W for winning the raffle and his friend Matt for winning Logan-appreciates-each-and-every-one-of-you bonus gift card. Many thanks to be given: Jordan for his donation; Chip for his donation; Dodd for, well, being Dodd; Bluegrass for their space and kindness; Marcus for being up for any game; all my regulars that keep this group going and successful; Big Brian, Jason Meadows, and Aileen returning after long absences (darn life for getting in the way of gaming!). I very much look forward to another year of gaming with all of you. You guys are the best group I could've hoped for when I used to sit around saying, "Gee, I wish I had a gaming group to play all these games with!" Happy New Year!

I know how we all love The Resistance, so ill bring Avalon, the medieval version of it and see if any fights break out because of it :D

Cool. I've had it a while but never drug it out. Did play it at home and was wrong that my wife would like it.

Anyone own Robinson Crusoe that can bring it?

Think Doug has it. Bummer because my wife said she saw it and it was on my list for Xmas but she chose not to get it. But I will be bringing Castaways if I can read the rules.

I have a big family event that day. If I can make it, I'll be there later in the afternoon.
