Tour de Seattle (5)

4/7/13 RIDE CANCELLED DUE TO STEADY RAIN.  Thank you for your interest.

A ride around and in Seattle. We will go by or stop at Green Lake, The Troll, statue of Lenin, Ballard Locks, Smith Cove, downtown Seattle landmarks and the International District. Riding on suburban and urban roads and bike trails including the Burke-Gilman ("missing link"), Elliott Bay Trail, the Jose Rizal Bridge and the Mountain To Sound / I-90 Trails.

There are two long hills early on, but the rest of the route is easier or flat. We pause at the tops of hills and regroup often. Lunch is at the Seattle Center food court--bike locks highly recommended. Patience and single file are necessary downtown.
The pace is nominally moderate but depending upon the terrain, weather and traffic, slower.
If desired, we can make brief stops for pix.
Meet in front of the Cascade Bicycle Club office--not down the hill.
Map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2260598; printed cue sheet and map available at the start.
See www.cascade.org for official ride posting.

Here is a YouTube of the ride down the Magnolia Bridge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxxrqqOOVgo

I am a tentative depending on weather. Otherwise, sounds like a great ride. Will check in before 9 am.

Diane, This is mucho weird. I just viewed the link: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2260598 and copied the URL to MeetUp. I'll try signing off of rwgps and see if I can see it...and indeed I can. If you still can't see it, try pasting the URL into your browser or send me an email at [masked]

The RWGPS map & cue should be public now. Sorry for the inconvenience. Printed copies will be available at the start too.
