Do you have some guilty calories to burn from last night's holiday gathering or do you want to preemptively burn some calories so that you can enjoy tonight's holiday gathering? If so, come join me for a fun and social ride around Lake Sammamish. We'll start from the free lot at Marymoor Park in Redmond for a counter-clockwise loop around the lake. Just in case you're calorie deficient due to good behavior we'll stop at the PCC in Issaquah for some hot chocolate and a tiny treat from their bakery counter. From PCC we'll pick up the newly paved Eastlake Sammamish trail, until we run out of pavement, at which point we'll join up with the road for our return to Marymoor.
This ride will begin at 11am. Please arrive early enough to ready your bike, sign the waiver, and listen to the SMART safety briefing. The first bathroom stop will be in Marymoor Park (by the Subway) and then another one at the PCC. Riders should come prepared with all necessary equipment to fix a flat and a plan for an emergency exit strategy. If the roads are wet, fenders are highly encouraged.
You can check out my groovy route map here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3455727 A PDF of the cue sheet can be accessed via the Cascade FDR site: http://www.cascade.org/node/16233 I will also have a few printed cue sheets at the start.
The weather forecast looks fairly decent for Saturday. A few sprinkles will not deter us, but steadier batches of rain at the start will cancel this ride.
